We have flexible options for the production of your labels, from high quality short runs through to efficient long runs. Our label experts can design a custom solution, selecting the right material and adhesive to meet both your branding and operational needs.
In-mold labels have historically dealt with specific challenges that have catered to a niche market. As industry experts continue to navigate these issues, in-mold labeling (IML) is finding solid ground.
In Mould labels are getting increasingly popular due to good aesthetics, durability of the label and the elimination of an additional step of labelling the container. Our current portfolio consists of white films with good anti-static and orange peel effect. Transparent films are under development.
In-Mould Labels (IML) are strong and durable, standing up to both rough handling and shipment-induced scuffing. In-Mould Labels (IML) are plastic labels that are printed then applied to the product during the manufacturing of containers by blow moulding or injection moulding. The label serves as the integral part of the final product, which is then delivered as pre-decorated item. Because this pre-decorating technique creates labeled inventory and other unique challenges, CCL can help evaluate your needs to determine what kind of decoration best fits your product.
In-mould labeling is a process in which the in-mould film is placed inside the mould during the manufacturing of containers by blow molding, injection molding, or thermoforming processes. This is done at high pressure where the pre-heated plastic is injected when the mould opens, and hence it is decorated with the label. This label serves is an integral part of the final product and the print stays dazzling on the product for life long.
In-mold labeling uses robots to load labels directly into the injection molding tool. The label becomes an integral part of the product. Current technology allows for photo quality and is quickly becoming popular. The products are often packaging materials for the food industry, but may also be other types of packaging. Production runs at high speed, often using multi-cavity systems. With a cycle time of a few seconds, many labels are loaded, with the same number of finished products being removed simultaneously.
For perfect positioning of label on the product, high precision and stability are required of everything: the label magazine, label-picking, shape of the labels and correct geometry. The IML process is our speciality. We pay particular attention to the design of the loading tools, or “dummies”. We make sure that the robot – the foundation of the automation process – is a model of reliability. The label needs to be placed perfectly every time.
Our robot systems are built using standardized modules, all of which are tried and tested, cost-effective building blocks. We can combine modules, putting them together in a variety of well-functioning ways. For each unique project we build an optimal solution; vertical or horizontal magazines, single or double lever take-out arms, turners and stackers, you name it. The solution will be efficient, user-friendly and safe at the same time. We tailor-make our products using standardized solutions.
